Process of Implementation

Our Target well located in North Africa was initially producing 980 bbl/d, simulations showed a good response to gas lift as a secondary recovery method, however the wells were far away from the existing gas lift network requiring significant costs to connect the wells to nearest Gas Lift network. As an alternative and cost-effective solution, National Oil Company (NOC) requested the AutoBooST® technology to be installed on both wells X1 and X2 to ensure continuous and stable production.

Overcoming Challenges

During The AutoBooST® project preparation, several challenges were faced some of them were unexpected. • Well Conditions: Absence of gas lift mandrel in the well, velocity string alternative was adopted. • Wellsite Area: The two target wells are far away from each other’s; extra lifting energy and extra lengths lines were required.

Solution

The AutoBooST® Technology was installed downstream X1 Well as first step of the project, which was producing initially 980 bbl/d. The flow was separated, and the gas recycled to the same well, allowing a production increase of 74% to 1708 bbl/d. The second step of the project consisted of using the extra gas to boost the energy of a second well X2 which secured a 50% production increase (220 bbl/d). As a Summary The AutoBooST® Technology allowed our partners NOC to have: - Total Production Gain of 950 bbl./d - Full control on the gas lift operation cost - Accurate and Continuous Production Monitoring - Remote Realtime Monitoring for GL operation - Optimized Maintenance during shutdowns.
